UniCat: Union Catalog of Belgian Libraries is sinds kort online. UniCat is een overkoepelende catalogus die de collecties van verschillende Belgische wetenschappelijke bibliotheken ontsluit. De meer dan 14 miljoen records die op dit moment ingevoerd zijn, komen van de Koninklijke Bibliotheek van België en verder een hele reeks universiteiten (waaronder de K.U.Leuven), hogescholen, erfgoedinstellingen, musea en andere instanties. Ook de catalogi van twee bibliotheeknetwerken zijn reeds volledig in UniCat geïntegreerd, te weten ANET en LIBISnet. In de toekomst wordt nog verdere uitbreiding verwacht.

UniCat: new union catalogue of Belgian academic libraries
UniCat has recently been made available online. It is the union catalog of Belgian academic libraries, holding some 14 million records from the Royal Library of Belgium and a list of universities (among which the K.U.Leuven), schools for higher education, heritage institutions, museum libraries and other institutions and organizations. Also included are the catalogues of two library networks, ANET and LIBISnet. Other libraries and library networks can join and are expected to do so once the UniCat service is in full production.
