Vanaf dit academiejaar is de discovery service Limo de centrale toegang tot de diverse collecties van de K.U.Leuven-bibliotheken. Je kan nu met één zoekactie nagaan welke verschillende bronnen beschikbaar zijn rond een bepaald thema.
Wat vind je in Limo? Boeken en tijdschriften die beschikbaar zijn in de bibliotheken, maar ook artikels en andere documenten uit belangrijke databanken en e-tijdschriftencollecties waar de instelling toegang toe heeft. Verder vind je er alle publicaties van de eigen onderzoekers van K.U.Leuven die opgenomen zijn in Lirias. Op termijn kan het huidige aanbod daarenboven worden uitgebreid met andere interessante bronnen, zoals belangrijke gedigitaliseerde collecties.
Enkele voordelen van Limo:
- gedrukte en elektronische publicaties via één centrale zoekinterface
- zoekresultaten standaard gerangschikt volgens relevantie
- eenvoudig je zoekopdracht verfijnen door middel van facets (filters)
- suggesties voor aanvullende literatuur via ‘Recommendations’

Uiteraard is er een uitgebreide helpfunctie aanwezig. Feedback over Limo kan je altijd geven via de knop “feedback”, rechts bovenaan op elke pagina.
De universiteitsbibliotheek van de K.U.Leuven is op dit moment de enige universiteitsbibliotheek in België die een dergelijke tool in huis heeft. Limo is de huisnaam voor PRIMO, een product van de Ex Libris-groep, een van de toonaangevende firma’s voor bibliotheeksoftware.

New search interface for all collections of K.U.Leuven libraries
From this academic year on, the discovery service Limo is the central access point to the collections of the K.U.Leuven libraries. You can now discover in a single search what sources are available on a certain topic.
What can you find in Limo ? Books and journals from the libraries, but also articles and other documents from important databases and e-journal collections that are available within the institution. It further contains all publications that are available in Lirias, the research repository of K.U.Leuven. The current content can later be extended with other interesting sources such as important digitized collections.
Some advantages of Limo:
- print and electronic publications via one search interface,
- search results by default ordered by relevance,
- search results easily refined by use of facets (filters),
- suggestions for further reading via “Recommendations”

At this moment, the university library of the K.U.Leuven is the only university library in Belgium that offers such a tool. Limo is based on the software PRIMO, a product of the Ex Libris Group, one of the important providers of library software.
